Membership Rules —

2.1 The Council considered the various clauses of the Memorandum of Association and Regulation of the Association as approved by Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Delhi. The following changes have been considered by the Council for final ratification in Special Annual General Meeting held on 15.05.93.

(i) The membership of the Association is open to all those who are directly or indirectly connected with the Electric Induction Melting Furnaces such as —

    a) Companies owning and using Induction Melting Furnaces;
    b) Manufacturers of Induction Melting Furnaces;
    c) Manufacturers of Auxiliary Electrical, mechanical and other equipment;
    d) Refractory and raw material suppliers;
    e) Foundry, rolling mills or forging equipment suppliers;
    f) Professional engineers and consultants

(ii) There are four categories or membership of the Association whose admission fees and annual membership fees are given in Para 2.2

2.2 Members Fees

Note : The National Council is authorized to revise membership and admission fees from time to time after approval by General Body. The membership fee becomes due on 1st April each year.

3.0 Membership Categories and Details

3.1 (i) Life Membership: Companies of category 2.1(i) (a) can become Life Members by paying the prescribed fee as given in para 2.2(i) (newly added).

(ii) Member: Companies of category 2.1(i) (a) are enrolled as Members after they pay subscription as mentioned in para 2.2(ii). Membership shall be by name of the company and it can nominate one person as main representative and one as alternate representative. However, voting rights will be for one representative only. Both, however, can attend meetings, etc. Any one of the representatives has the right to stand for election to the post of office bearer or member of the National Council.

(iii) Affiliate Member: Companies as per para (i) (b) to (e) of para graph 2.1 are enrolled as Members after they pay subscription as mentioned in para 2.2(iii). Membership shall be by name of the company and it can nominate one person as main representative and another as alternate. They cannot hold any office but can become Members of National Council. They will not have voting rights.

(iv) Associate Member: Professional engineers and Consultants by name can become Members after paying subscription in para 2.2(iv). They cannot hold office or become Members of National Council. However, they can be co-opted to National Council in an advisory capacity but will not have voting rights in National Council or Annual General Meetings.

(v) The tenure of President will be two years but extendable by one year (max). The tenure of Honorary Secretary General and Honorary Treasurer will be one year and other office bearers will be one year but such office bearers can offer themselves for election again.

4.0 Rights and Privileges

Some details are given in para 3. Members can be included in a team of AIIFA visiting foreign countries for the benefit of the Association. They can also represent Association in delegation waiting on various Central and State Governments and on other corporate bodies etc. All members will be entitled to get the Association journal and circular letters free of cost, National Council can coopt or invite some eminent persons to attend its meetings or loin in the delegation but they will not have any voting rights.
